Game been rained off ? Swing by...

Of course we know there is nothing better than on a nice day, stepping on to the first tee, and then hitting the first ball down the fairway, maybe a beer at the ninth.

But what about those days where the Scottish weather plays up, and you have to cancel your game ? It's days like these why we have our state of the art simulators.

At The Golf Lounge, our six 12' x 15' screens offer the highest quality imagery and each are coupled with their own fantastic sound system, so you can hear the waves of the ocean or the birds in the trees and more importantly, the crowd cheer you on.

With over 50 of the greatest courses to choose from and a couple of fantasy courses too; players want to play with the best equipment at the best facilities.

In the video below we have Graeme, General Manager of The Golf Lounge, talking us through the golf simulators, and how to use them. You do not have to be a seasoned pro to join us for a game, if you want to come and give the booths a try, but you've never played before, please don't hesitate to pop by, and you can bring your children if you like to. We have clubs for men, women and children available.

Each simulator booth is kitted out with a variety of surfaces very realistic to those faced on the golf course – be it the smoothness of the putting green or the stubbornness of the rough or the sand bunker. The Golf Lounge provide the latest golf clubs (left-handed and ladies too), balls and gloves, so all you have to do is bring yourself.

We've introduced an Off Peak Loyalty Card, available for all customers!

Do you have a  spare hour at lunch or in the evening? It's a great time to have a bit of fun with us at The Golf Lounge, since the Winter weather has kicked in! We're also doing food and drink special offers - so you can have a snack, lunch or dinner with us too!


Each time you visit us between Sunday and Wednesday (including discounted golf), you get a stamp on your card. On your sixth stamp, you get a free hour of golf!

George Square to transform into a Freshers Week Frenzy

Now that Brad Pitt and his Hollywood film crew have had their way with our beloved city, we can get on with our day to day business again. But not for long, because on the Thursday 29th & Friday 30th September, George Square will be transformed. Rather than World War Z, George Square will become a frenzy of students attending the Scot Campus' Freshers Festival 2011 and The Golf Lounge will be part of the action!

Now in its fifth year, Scotland's premier student attraction that marks 'Glasgow Freshers Week' is expected to be the biggest and best yet. Over 14,000 students are thought to attend the free festival. 2010 attracted over eighty exhibitors, including Relentless, Urban Outfitters, Blackberry, ticketSOUP.com, Dominos Pizza, Fenchurch and Pot Noodle and this year The Golf Lounge are excited to be part of the event.

September Weekend, Levelone All Dayer Event: FREE ENTRY

Last Sunday saw The Golf Lounge play host to the first ever Levelone All Dayer, which went down an absolute treat with everyone who was there. So much so that we have decided to make it a regular occurrence.

The next session will be held on the 25th September and just like the one before, another great selection of DJ talent is set to get you in the mood for the September Weekend. Twelve of the Glasgow's finest DJ's will be performing at 'The All Dayer' and will be backed up by live percussion (Jer) & saxophone player (Craig Nelson).

It was really busy on Sunday so get down early. As it's Septemeber weekend, we think it's a perfect way to spend your day after the night before on a bank holiday weekend and what's more is that most of us will be off work on Monday! But if you do have to get up on Monday mornign to join the rat race again, we finish early enough for you to get home for a decent nights sleep. Live Sports at The Golf Lounge

The Brangelina train has (literally) rolled into Glasgow and it seems every female in the city is keeping their eyes peeled for Mr Pitt. Wimbledon & Boxing action at The Golf Lounge

The heavyweight fight between David 'The Hayemaker' Haye and Vladimir Klitschko, AKA “Dr. Steelhammer” takes place this Saturday night and all of the action can be caught at The Golf Lounge.

What Scotland can learn from the Silicon Valley

What do world leading companies like Apple, Facebook, Google or Twitter have in common? Apart from having an un-quenchable desire to build great products, they have all been established and are based in Silicon Valley. This 60 mile peninsula, running from San Francisco to San Jose has built a reputation for being home to the fastest growing and most impactful internet, and now mobile, businesses.

What can Scotland learn from these institutions?

This New Media BBQ will focus on the cultural learnings from Silicon Valley and what Scottish Business can learn from the 'Innovation Ecosystem' (McKinsey & Co. 2009). The Presentation will be led by Andrew McCalister (Heyzap, Mino Monsters) who will discuss:

- What markets are exploding…..and imploding

- How to raise the required funding

- What to do with it once you get it

- Building a killer culture

- Learning points from social gaming

Andrew McCalister, originally from Glasgow now lives and works in Silicon Valley. He charges ahead with Business Development for Heyzap, the largest social discovery platform for games in the world, and is a Board advisor at Mino Monsters, one of the hottest start-ups in Silicon Valley aiming to be the next Pokemon.

He is the youngest ever awardee of the prestigious Global Research Award from the Royal Academy of Engineering for his work on high-growth companies in Silicon valley. Prior to making the jump to California, Andrew graduated with Distinction from Cambridge University in Engineering and Business and Glasgow University with Engineering.

For his sins he went to school with Kyle Murdoch, fatBuzz.

Free Friday BBQ's are back at The Golf Lounge!

The wait is over folks. Following the completion of our NEW outside patio area and the summer well and truly on its way, Free Friday BBQ's are back at The Golf Lounge!

The first of the year takes place this Friday. All you need to do is buy a drink at the bar to receive your FREE BBQ TOKEN. There will be a choice of homemade burgers and hot dogs, plus the usual sides and salads to choose from.
